PSG Edges Olympique de Marseille via Spot-Kicks to Claim French Super Cup in the Middle East.

PSG players celebrating

The Parisian club has now won the season-opening trophy on 14 separate occasions.

The Parisian giants needed a dramatic leveler followed by a perfect spot-kick decider to get past their arch-rivals in Kuwait and capture a record-extending fourth consecutive French Super Cup victory.

The European champions appeared to be sailing towards a straightforward triumph in the match between the Ligue 1 champions and the French Cup winners after Ousmane Dembele opened the scoring in the opening stages.

Yet, the southern French side fired twice late to seize a shock advantage. Initially, the English forward scored from the penalty spot, before the defender unfortunately directed the ball into his own net for an own goal.

In a remarkable turn of fortune, the Portuguese striker snatched a vital leveler in the final seconds to force the match into a penalty shootout. The Parisian shot-stopper Chevalier then stood as the hero, stopping decisive kicks from O'Riley and Traore.

From the spot, Ramos, the midfielder, Nuno Mendes, and the young talent all scored with composure for Paris Saint-Germain to complete a 4-1 penalty victory.

Now 14-time winners Paris Saint-Germain, who met last season's Ligue 1 second-placed team Marseille after achieving a league and cup double, have now lifted this trophy for the 12th time in the past 13 years.
